Rain and Daniel sat in the dining room. Rain had dragged him in her and passed him a coin that she had found the first day they were here.
"I found it in the water outside. It was sitting in the fountain, the fountain that is now gone. It says once but I don't know what it means."
"I think it actually says One. If you look, the pattern curled in between the O and the E."
"I didn't look at it this close," she admitted. "What do you think it means?"
"I am not sure. It could mean one penny? Who knows, it looks very old. I doubt it's anything important. You should hold onto it, maybe it will bring you luck," Daniel said.
"I guess," Rain said as she stood. "I will go help out the guys."
"If you don't mind, I will stay in here. I am feeling a little weak this morning."
"Thats okay Daniel, we will call you if we need help."
Glory was walking towards the fruit trees when a pain throbbed in her head. She blinked and held a hand to her head as the pain became worse. She stumbled, she could hear something, something near. It was a voice. It was distorted, but the voice was getting louder. She stumbled again, grabbing out for purchase but could not find anything to hold onto. She fell to the ground. The voice became clearer.
"You are close. Very close, just open the doors. You will soon be here," the voice trailed off. Glory was shaking on the ground, her hands wrapped around her knees. That voice had chilled her, it was evil and she could still feel the coldness it had sent through her veins. She was about to stand when another voice came to her, this one softer.
"You have to get out of here. It's not safe, you are in grave danger. Go, head for the river and keep running. We were too late, but you still have a chance."
The voice stopped and Glory fainted.
Glory came to an hour later. The voice she had heard still rang in her head. Her first thought was to run, just leave and save herself. She knew she couldn't do that, it was wrong and selfish. She rushed inside to find Daniel and Matt in the dining room, talking about which was to go.
"The river," she yelled as she burst in the room. She was panting, sucking air into her lungs with a struggle.
"What?" Daniel asked, helping her sit down.
"We need to head to the river and follow it. We are in danger."
"What are you talking about?" Matt asked, confused.
"I heard a voice and it told me to head to the river. I think we should."
"What river? I didn't see a river when we went out there," Matt told them.
Glory looked at them both, and the room started to sway. She slipped from the chair and for the second time, fainted.
