Grace Roundhouse sat on the bench outside Ellie's Diner, waiting for her friends to take a break. Lunchtime had just finished, and the inside of the diner looked deserted apart from two teenagers sitting in a booth kissing. Ellie Moore joined Grace after ten minutes. "Hey Grace." "Ellie," Grace said, hugging her. "Sorry about this damn stick, it gets in the way a lot." "Don't worry about it," Ellie said. "How is your knee?" "It's the same, the doctors are a little worried about it," Grace told her, her head lowered thinking of the life she will lead with a walking stick in tow. "I'm sure it will be okay in a few months." "Anyway, the reason I am here is that I wanted to tell you some good news. I am going to be signing the papers on an office downtown tomorrow," she said, smiling once more. "That's great news," Ellie said.

"I'm spending the money I got for my house on this place, I just hope I have something left to pay the bills for the apartment," she said, not a little worried. "It will take some time to get clients again." "You have my rent, and Rachel's so you will be getting money that way," Ellie told her. "That's very true, I guess I won't be too desperate," Grace laughed. "Crud, I have some customers. I will see you at home?" Ellie asked. "Actually I wanted something to eat," Grace said as they both walking into the diner.

"Hey," a voice said to Holly Sundale as she sat down. "Oh," Holly responded, trying to remember if she knew this girl from school. "I'm new around here and I wanted to meet some people me own age," Adel West said to Holly. "May I sit?" Holly nodded and Adel sat down. "I'm Holly," she said. "Sa....Adel," Adel said, shaking Holly's hand. "Sa-Adel?" Holly asked, puzzled. "It's just Adel. My nickname back in Ohio was Sandy because I had that colour hair," Adel said, cursing to herself for saying Ohio, why had she said that? "Oh, okay," Holly giggled. "So what is there to do around here?" Adel asked. Holly thought for a few second. "Well, I don't really go to the club that near here, but there is that place." "What do you do?"
"Most of my time is spent with my band, and then I," Holly paused. "Babysit." "Is that the kid I saw you with in your garden? I passed your house and saw you in the back yard, that's sort of why I came over. You seem nice," Adel told her. Holly sighed. 'Why lie?'she thought. "He is mine." "Oh," Adel said, knowing all this already but trying to sound surprised. "I had him a year ago. It was a drunken mistake, how many teenagers can say that?" Holly asked. "Too many," Adel answered. "No offense." "None taken, that's true. "Well this guy who I knew came onto me at a party and we ended up, you know. And then, nine months three weeks later, he was late, I had Nathan." "You seem like a great mom." "Thanks. I hope so," Holly smiled. Adel grinned. "Does much happen around here?" "You would be surprised. There has been murders, divorce, teen mothers and kidnap," Holly though, suddenly feeling slightly nervous about living here. The feeling soon passed. "Would it be cool if I hung out with you sometime?" Adel asked. "Sure." Holly ordered her lunch. "You seem like a nice person." Adel grinned again. "Thanks."

Mark Blackgreen got out of his car and went over to his wife who was trimming roses. "Hey baby." "Hey baby, hey," she sang and giggled. Mark chuckled. "How are you?" "Fine." "You look great. Listen, I can't go to Toffee's wedding tomorrow because I have to meet with a patient." "Can't you get out of it?" "Sorry, but she is having a hard pregnancy and I need to be there tomorrow," Mark told her, holding her hands. "I understand," Angel said, not feeling angry, only disappointed. "I will go and see Toffee and Wes when I get home, at the reception and tell them why I was away for the wedding. I don't think it will be until late though." Angel heard the phone ringing. "I better get that."
