We all make mistakes in life, some of which will change everything. Young people want to experiment, and this can lead to problems. For some young people, temptation gets too much, and they give in, and make that mistake that will change their lives for good. Welcome to the Tragic Kingdom........
Holly Sundale had told her mother she was pregnant. Over the past few days. Holly and Dawn had talked and talked about her options, but had come to no conclusions.
"Hey Holly, you look different today," Dawn said as her daughter joined her.
"I decided it was time for a change," she said.
"How are you feeling?"
"Not to bad. A little morning sickness. Well, either that or the fish we had last night was off," Holly joked.
"I might be a bad cook, but I'm not that bad. I think I would have noticed," Dawn giggled. "How about you and me go to lunch today?"
"Sure!"
"I'll book it. I have to take Poppy to school and we can leave, maybe do some shopping while we are there," Dawn suggested.
"Great!"
Lunchtime comes around fast in the Kingdom, and most people wonder where the morning has gone. Dawn and Holly arrived at a small restaurant called The Petal Stand that was just outside the Kingdom.
"This is a nice place," Dawn told Holly.
"Yeah, you brought me here last year," Holly remembered.
"For your birthday, yeah I remember," Dawn said. "I know you have a lot in your head, like deciding if you want this child, but no matter what happens, I want you to know you have me."
"Thanks mom. I messed up," Holly blurted out.
"Oh honey. This is all fixable. Try to forget about it, and lets have lunch," Dawn said, holding her daughters hand.
"Sure," Holly said, wiping her eyes.
After a nice talk, their food came and the got stuck in. Behind them, birds sang and people's voices could be heard from the local park, laughing and joking, yelling and screaming. The feeling for Dawn was one of warmth and happiness. The screaming and yelling reminded her of Holly and Poppy playing in their garden, throwing water on each other. She smiled. Holly had made a mistake, yet Dawn wanted the sounds of a laughing child in the house again. That though was broken by Holly's next comment.
