Sitting in the hall of the courthouse, Grace, Ming and CJ were nervously waiting the verdict. "I am sure they will do the right thing," Grace said. Ming sighed. "I doubt it, I just want to get this all over with, learn my fate." "Mom, I need to go somewhere, but I will be back for the verdict. Just text me," CJ told her, as he left. "Ming," Grace said. "Don't sorry, things will be okay." Ming smiled, a nervous smile. "Sure."
Sam Swift lay on her bed, thinking about her options. What she needed most of all, was to get away from the Kingdom. She picked up her cell, and dialed a number. "CJ," she said. "I want you to meet me here." "I am on my way there, I was coming over to see you." "Good, when you get here, we need to talk about whats we are going to do, sort things out fully." "Sure, I am nearly there," CJ said, and hung up the phone.
"Where is she?" Greg asked, looking around the streets. They had been driving for a while now, and still hadn't found her. "Maybe she got to her house already," Xander suggested. "I friggin' hope not, we need that money," Greg moaned. "We will find her." "If we don't, we will get the money another way. We wont give up that easy, Greg said. The car slowly moved off again, the two men looking from side to side for Dawn.
As he was about to see Sam, CJ got a text telling him to come back to the courthouse. He arrived to find his mom sitting at a table, looking scared. "Mom?" "Not yet, but they are close," Ming told him. "If the worst happens, I am going to go away for a while, is that okay?" CJ asked. "Where?" "I am not sure, I just want to get away. I will come see you, but I do need a break," CJ told her. "I guess, as long as you see me every week." CJ looked away. "I will," he lied. As Ming was about to ask where again, Grace walked in. "Ming, the verdict is in." Ming swallowed hard. "Let's get this over with."
"Have you reached your verdict?" the judge asked the jury. "We have your honour." "What say you?" "We find the defendant guilty," the woman said, then sat down. Ming froze, her eyes were wide and her jaw drooping. "Thank you for your service," the judge said. "Since it is the holidays, I will pass sentence now." Grace stood up. "Your honour, don't you think this is unfair, its Christmas, she should be sentenced after the holidays?" "Please sit down Miss Roundhouse," he said.
"Your honour, you can't do this," Grace said. "I can do whatever I please Miss Roundhouse. Sit down," he said. "Since Mrs. Stonewalk has been through a tough time over the span of her marriage, I can see what drove her to murder. I have decided to lower her sentence, however, she protested her innocence even with the evidence against her. I was going to give you 10 years, but I have decided to give 15," the judge said, and slammed the gavel down. "Take her away, court dismissed." Ming looked at CJ. "Honey, I will see you soon." "Ming, they are here to take you. I am sorry," Grace said, hugging her. "It's okay, I am sure I will be able to do this," Ming said, unsure. The officers put on her handcuffs, and lead her out of the room, leaving CJ and Grace alone in the room.
Holly Sundale sat in her living room with two police officers. They were talking about what they will do with the money that the men wanted from her. As Holly was about to leave, the front door burst open and Dawn ran inside. "Thank goodness," she said, out of breath. "Dawn," the officers said together. "I got out, but they are looking for me," she said. "At least your safe," he said.
Holly grabbed her mother, and held her tight. "Thank god." "I know. I am so glad to be home," Dawn said, kissing her on her forehead. "I though the worst," Holly said, tears for flowing down her face. "Don't cry. I am fine, and we are together again. Where is Poppy?" "She is upstairs," Holly told her. "Stay here, I will go see her. I am so glad to be here," Dawn said, leaving Holly and the officers in the living room.
After hearing the verdict, CJ Stonewalk packed up his things, and made his way over to Sam. He wish he could have told his mother where he was going, but he didn't really know. When he arrived, Sam was standing by the door. "Your hair," he said, pointing to her. "I wanted a change, you know, new start and all," Sam said. "Well, where are we going?" CJ asked, putting his bags down. "I thought New York," Sam said. "The city would be a great place to go, there is more chance of work there, and we can rent a place." "I guess," CJ said. "I booked a cab, it should be here soon."
"Well, this is it then," CJ said, looking out the window at the Kingdom. "We are moving on." "Yeah, its strange. We grew up here. It's for the best though," Sam said, making sure CJ was not having second thought's. The cab pulled up, and the teens got in, and they were away. New York was their new home, and all their mistakes in the Kingdom were forgotten, or so they thought.
